Ingredients:
Samai rice flour sieved 1 cup
Coconut grated 1 coconut
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Saffron 1 pinch
Salt
Ghee 1 tsp
Sugar or jaggery 1 and 1/2 cup
Method:
- Wash and clean samai rice
- Soak them in water with little salt
- Add soaked rice with half of coconut and grind it for kozhukattai
- Heat a pan and roast the grounded flour without any lumps
- When it is cooked remove from flame and set aside
- Then make small gooseberry size balls out of these cooked rice and steam it in idly plates
- Add melted jaggery or sugar in a pan and add water to it
- Filter the impurities
- Take first and second coconut milk from the coconut
- Boil water in a pan and add cooked balls into it
- When it is cooked add sugar and stir it
- Add second milk to it
- Add first milk along with cardamom powder,saffron,ghee.
- Serve Hot.
