Parotta with paaya and chicken salna makes a complete meal and its more of a comforting meal for me.In our hometown, there will be lots of parotta stalls where parotta masters serve hot parottas with tasty currys..Here in my place in US,there is not even a single hotel that would serve me parotta :( ,which led me to make my own parotta. This is my aunts recipe and they have come out really well and satisfied my craving for parotta.
Serves:12-15
Ingredients:
9.Flatten each parotta with a rolling pin.
10.Place the parotta on a heated tawa, drizzle oil on the sides.
11.Flip the parotta when one side is cooked and cook on the other side. Finally beat the paratha from the sides to expose the layers.
Serve it with your favourite curry and enjoy!!
Ingredients:
All purpose flour - 500 g
Egg-2
Milk- 1/2 cup +2 Tbsp
Sugar-2 tsp
Oil - 1/4 cup(I used olive oil)
Salt - as needed
Method:
- Break the eggs in a bowl and add milk, sugar, salt ,oil and whisk them well. Then add this egg-milk mixture to flour and knead them well into a soft dough.
- Cover the dough with a moist cloth and leave it for 4 hours.I used a moist paper towel to cover the dough.
3.Make equal sized balls out of the dough .
4.In a bowl, mix few tbsps of maida and little oil.
5.Grease the rolling surface with the maida-oil mixture.
6.Apply maida-oil mixture on top of the ball and using a rolling pin expand each ball into a long and thin shape stretching evenly on all sides.
7.Hold the two ends from the top and fold them into strips.
8.Take one end and start rolling them into another flat disc.
