Chole Masala


Chole masala is quick and easy to make.Chickpeas are also known as channa,garbanzo bean,hummus and Bengal gram...It is packed with lots of nutrients.There are many variations of these chhole masala preparation,but i am used to this particular recipe..I personally love to have chhole masala with naan or bhatura(Blame the taste buds!!)Here goes the recipe....

INGREDIENTS:

Chick peas -1 cup(Soaked overnight)
Bay leaf    - 2
Onion(Big)- 1
Tomatoes- 2
Ginger Garlic paste-1 Tbsp
Channa masala-1 Tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 Tsp
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Lemon slices for garnishing
Water -as needed
Oil

METHOD:
  1. Soak channa overnight.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add Cumin seeds and bay leaf.
  3. Add onions with little salt and saute them.Adding salt makes the onion to leave out moisture and hence they are cooked easily.
  4. Add Ginger garlic paste and saute them.
  5. Then add the tomatoes and cook till they are soft and mushy
  6. Add chilly powder,Turmeric powder and channa masala powder
  7. Finally add the soaked channa along with needed salt and water and pressure cook for 6 to 7 whistles. Add a few drops of lemon juice if desired.Garnish them with coriander leaves and slices of lime.

Serve it with ur favourite bread and enjoy!! :)

Ginger-Cardamon Tea

Yep its ginger cardamon tea packed with flavours!!!My mom used to make the best tea...I am always inspired by the way my mom cooks...yummy,delicious ,flavourful...I miss her and her lovely cuisines made with utmost care and love...Will always love you mom forever and ever!!Though I never got a chance to ask my mom's lovely recipe,this Tea recipe will be flavourful and am sure your taste buds will linger with  taste of GC tea!!:-)



INGREDIENTS:

Tea powder   -2 Tbsp
Milk              - 2 cups
Ginger           -3  tbsp grated
Cardamon      -4 whole or a few pinches of cardamon powder
Sugar             - as needed
Water             -1/4 cup

METHOD:
  1. Take a pan and boil 1/4 cup of water.When it comes to a boil add grated ginger,cardamon powder.
  2. Simmer it for a few minutes and add tea powder and let it boil for a minute or two..
  3. Finally add the milk and sugar and  let it simmer for a few minutes.Strain them in a cup and enjoy...I had it with my nanakattan biscuits today!!:)
